A Hawaii man got his comeuppance for sending more than 100 mean texts to his ex-girlfriend.

Last week,Ava Fabian Archives Daren Young, 30, was ordered to send his ex 144 compliments after he texted and called her 144 times, violating a court-ordered protection issued in February blocking contact between the two. The judge called his onslaught of messages "nasty," according to the Maui News.

He has 144 days to write the compliments — and he can't repeat his praises.

"For every nasty thing you said about her, you’re going to say a nice thing,” the judge said per the Maui News. “No repeating words.”

In addition to requiring him to send the compliments, the judge also ordered that Young pay $2,400 in fines and commit 200 hours of community service.

Apparently, Young was apologetic about the textstorm and promised, “I’m not going to do it again.” But still the judge was shocked by the text vitriol. "It’s so childish to think a grown man can be so thumb-happy," she said in court.

Young had served 157 days in jail after sending the texts in May.

"Think before you text" has never been more applicable.
